What a summer we had! Our summer market was busier than the spring market, as homes flew off the market almost as soon as they came on to it. Right now, we have more active buyers than inventory to meet demand, which is causing everything North of Boston to settle into a strong seller’s market. Home prices have gone up from last year, and that’s saying a lot considering that 2019’s prices were already up significantly from 2018.
Interestingly enough, we’re finding that COVID has impacted city dwellers the most; home prices in Boston proper have actually decreased and homes there are staying on the market longer. In light of everything that’s happened so far in 2020, it seems more people are wanting to leave denser, urban areas and find more spacious properties.
